Second Mass Rivers Lobby Day a Success

Writer's picture: Anna RenkertAnna Renkert

This past Thursday, Mass Rivers hosted our second Lobby for the Rivers Day. This day of advocacy on Beacon Hill provides an opportunity for our member organizations, individual members and residents to engage with their elected officials and raise their voice for rivers across the state.

The event was sponsored by Representative Carolyn Dykema and Senator Jamie Eldridge. A big thank you to our speakers: Environment Committee Chair Representative Smitty Pignatelli, Representative Linda Dean Campbell, Representative Denise Provost and Representative Dave Rogers.

We had our largest number of participants to date – nearly 100! Attendees came from all corners of the state including the Berkshires, Cape Cod, and the North Shore. Participants in the event collectively met with 61 Representatives and House staff and 29 Senators and Senate staff.

Thank you to everyone who supported and participated in this afternoon of advocacy!

Mass Rivers Executive Director Julia Blatt welcomes Lobby Day participants and legislators to the event.
