In 2023, Governor Healey made history by signing Executive Order No. 618 which calls for the agency to develop nation-leading biodiversity goals, including for rivers and coastal and marine environments. Since then, the Department has been hard at work, identifying collaborations, and developing transformative actions to ensure all life flourishes for generations to come.
