On October 26 Mass Rivers is offering an important training on how to protect your local rivers and streams under the new “SWMI” regulations. After a long delay, MassDEP is starting to issue water withdrawal permits under the new “SWMI” (Sustainable Water Management Initiative) regulations. This workshop offers an opportunity to learn about MassDEP’s new permitting process directly from agency staff, water suppliers and watershed groups who have begun to work with the new program.
The workshop is entitled “Using the MA Water Management Act to help your rivers and streams: A primer.” It will be held on Oct. 26, 8:30am – 2:15pm at the Richard Cronin Building of the MA Division of Fisheries and Wildlife, 1 Rabbit Road, Westborough
The agenda will cover many topics presented by experts in the field.
To register for the workshop, simply complete the google form and bring your $20 registration fee to the workshop (cash/check only). This fee covers the cost of handouts and food/drink provided throughout the day including a catered lunch. Registration is limited.
We are grateful to the Foundation for Metrowest for underwriting the cost of this workshop.
